A Valley of Judgment Involving the Nations
“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!” Joel 3:12-14
Perhaps you have been perplexed or wondering what is happening lately to the world and in particular–your own nation. Why have things changed so much? How could this happen? The rise of every day occurrences in many nations such as disasters, destruction and violence often destroying homes, towns, villages, as well as trees and natural beauty-disrupting daily lives is commonplace in world news. We will examine what the Bible says which is the only absolute truth in the world today. I believe it will help us cope with the difficulties we are facing. God has everything under control; however, the way in which we relate to Him and His Chosen People will help us grapple with and move with faith through each trial as we are tested with situations we have never dealt with before. A principle and a promise of Almighty God was introduced in the beginning of His Word. “I will bless those who bless My People and curse those who curse them”. (Genesis 12:3) God either raises the cup of blessing in joy or He pours out His Wrath from a cup of trembling as a negative result of His solemn decree. Anyone attempting to harm His Chosen People will reap the consequences. It is a decree that he made which can never be changed—what is written is written.
How then do nations who are clearly deciding they will stand with Israel face the evil onslaughts of persecutors of Israel today? Herod, Haman, Hitler, Hussein and Hamas have all had their day and their demise is clear. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel clearly demands a spiritual decision by nations who fear God–to remain aligned to His plans and purposes for Israel which nation He chose as “His People.” (Exodus 32:26)
“The only thing more dangerous than ignorance is arrogance.” (Albert Einstein)
When people groups boast of ways in which they will slaughter all Jews and wipe them off the face of the earth–they are casting their lots into the wrong direction. Haman cast his lot with the dream of annihilating the entire Jewish population and so did the rest of the evil dictators—but the dream was only an evil imaginary illusion fantasy, and they all met their Creator and Maker. “We are going to punish those Jews” was and is their blood curdling scream. Their quest to do Israel harm has grown in puzzling proportions at a pace unknown before in our days—now is not the time to remain silent.
A “lot” in Hebrew is termed “pur.” This is where we get the name of the festival Purim. It is related to the casting of the lot. It was a way to make a voice heard even if in a concealed way. While “casting the lot” may have been used in pagan ways of choosing a thing–we as believers in the Jewish Messiah (Jesus/Yeshua) make our decisions individually before the Lord God Almighty. Even if our nations may be throwing in the towel (which may be a way of backing down or giving in to pressure) we still need to be sure we make the right Godly choice. To stand even with a remnant means we are standing on God’s Side.
Finally, I repeat and draw our attention to the blessing or the curse in Genesis 12:3. The battle raging against Israel is from the spiritual and physical worlds and has become fierce and ugly. As we make our choice now—we must align with God’s Will. We must be a part of eradicating Christian antisemitism wherever it is found as is forbidden in God’s commands. Unfortunately, it is still found in ample forms of the false teaching of Replacement Theology. For centuries, the historical church has projected spiritual arrogance and used it against the Jewish people. It is in the best interest of the world arena of nations to cast their vote FOR Israel and bear in mind each nation will be “weighed on the scales.” (Psalm 62:9) Let none of us who name the Lord Jesus (Yeshua) as King be among the masses who will face the penalties ahead for disregarding the Jewish people or taking them lightly.
Should your nation be among the cursers–much prayer is needed for the homeland. Prayers for mercy, forgiveness, and pardon. God is gracious to hear our supplications on behalf of our countries actions. God will settle His Dispute with the nations and the choices they made Himself. The Land that He gave to them will indeed be possessed in toto as the establishment of God’s Coming Kingdom will emerge within Jerusalem as the capital of the entire world. (2 Chronicles 6:6)
