Cataclysm Series 05 – The Temple Mount Part 2
This is the second part of a talk on The Temple Mount within the series entitled Cataclysm. In this talk, Geoff considers the attempts by Jewish people to rebuild the Temple in the 4th and the 7th Century AD. Both attempts failed. After the Islamic Invasion, there would be no further opportunity. Geoff gives an overview of the earthquake history of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. He asks a question as to why the Dome of the Rock looks the way it does, seemingly modelled on a 5th Century Byzantine Church. It is also Geoff’s opinion that there will never be a successful attempt at rebuilding the Temple on the present Temple Mount. This conviction will be further amplified in the next talk in the series. This presentation has added poignancy because of the tragedy that took place on Mount Meron this week.
